Development and History

Since 1995, IDEAL Pack GmbH has grown into a group of companies that makes a real difference for you with a comprehensive range of services and over 600 employees.

  • 2025

    Check Check

    Three decades of innovation, growth, and partnership: The IDEAL GROUP is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Since 1995, we have been shaping the future of retail—with a passion for technology, a strong network, and a commitment to always staying one step ahead.

  • 2024

    In 2024, we successfully obtained IFS certification in accordance with IFS Progress Logistics. We also gained several well-known new customers, including a major energy drink provider as well as leading brands in the dairy, fitness, and cookware and grill equipment sectors.
    To meet increasing customer demands, we now offer a climate-controlled warehouse with temperature control. We have also significantly enhanced our warehouse management system, resulting in a noticeable improvement in performance.

  • 2023

    In 2023, we were able to onboard new clients in the dairy products, solar balcony power plants, tools, a beverage consortium, and energy bars sectors. We also carried out campaigns for several wineries.
    Our brand identity has been given a fresh new look; we are now positioning ourselves as the IDEAL GROUP, as evidenced, among other things, by our completely revamped website. This also includes a strong focus on quality and IFS certification, which has led to a massive improvement in our quality management. The environment was also on the agenda: We now have 12 charging stations for our customers’ electric vehicles and our own fleet.

  • 2022

    In 2022, we continued to systematically transition our fleet to electric vehicles. We were also able to attract new customers from a wide range of industries: from corporate merchandising and trendy beverage brands to energy bars and a major brand-name manufacturer. As a result, our team grew to just over 600 employees. Ideal-Pharma Packaging, founded in 2018, was sold to investors.

  • 2021

    In 2021, we continued to attract new customers, including those in the fields of garden irrigation, fitness influencers, dietary supplements, event management, and a well-known fasting clinic. The strong growth in the e-commerce/Fulfillment sector thus continued. To support this, we put additional interfaces into operation. We further strengthened our measures for efficient energy use, and our first in-house charging stations for our electric vehicle fleetwent into operation.

  • 2020

    2020 was actually supposed to be all about our 25th anniversary. However, with COVID-19, everything turned out quite differently: First of all, our anniversary celebration in April was, of course, canceled. This was followed by a sharp drop in order volume due to the lockdown, as well as extensive measures to improve hygiene in our day-to-day operations.
    Fortunately, many of our customers were able to significantly increase their orders thanks to the trend toward online shopping—primarily in the food and personal care sectors. Our own sales activities through platforms such as eBay and Amazon, as well as several new customers we acquired in the food, cosmetics, electric mobility, disinfection, and fastening technology sectors, also contributed to a successful 2020. We were even able to retain all of our employees, despite some challenging circumstances.

  • 2019:

    The year was marked by investments: The construction of an additional 5,800-square-meter facility expands our capacity, the new 750-kW/p solar power plant reduces our carbon footprint, and approximately 30 new data interfaces dramatically accelerate the onboarding of new customers. We welcomed new customers in the food sector, brick-and-mortar retail, and production agencies. Never before have we had the opportunity to assemble so many Advent calendars, including some of exceptionally high quality. Packaging medical devices is now also part of the IDEAL GROUP’s portfolio: the audit of Ideal-Pharma Packaging was successfully completed.

  • 2018

    Once again, the focus is on growth through new customers: Dinkelacker, Kaco new energy, Sylvie Meis, and others have chosen IDEAL GROUP for Fulfillment and other logistics services. For existing customers, we are implementing various new projects, such as those related to Amazon FBA. Accordingly, we are continuing to expand our staffing capacity. In addition, two new companies were founded in 2018. One is IDEAL Pharma Packaging GmbH, which allows us to specifically strengthen our expertise in the pharmaceutical and cosmetics sectors . The other is IDEAL Alpha GmbH, which provides its customers in the B2B and D2C sectors with an infrastructure tailored to e-commerce. Through IDEAL Alpha, we are now able to take on the entire value chain for our customers. This is a true asset to the entire group.

  • 2017

    This year, we are once again welcoming several new customers, including , for example, Knauf Building Products. Two newly constructed warehouses provide us with an additional 7,000 square meters of production space, which helps optimize our food logistics processes. As a result, we’ve once again expanded our staff —with strong support from our new downtown office dedicated to recruitment. In the pharmaceutical sector, we have passed the internal GDP (Good Distribution Practice) audit conducted by a demanding client for the second time.

  • 2016

    We’re responsible for the logistics of the UEFA online store not just during the year of the European Soccer Championship; in 2016, however, items are selling particularly fast. We’ve acquired various new customers, such as Matrema from Gräfeling. We ’re expanding our picking warehouse from one to three floors—same floor space requirements, but more favorable terms for our customers. The production area is also being expanded: Plans for an additional 7,000 square meters in 2017 have been finalized. Coca-Cola has once again entrusted us with its Advent truck campaign—over 300,000 units are being assembled as Advent calendars, each containing 24 small gifts.

  • 2015

    We’re celebrating our anniversary: For 20 years, we’ve been steadily moving in one direction: upward.
    The IDEAL GROUP is now certified for 12 months under IFS Food for food handling; the audit has been completed. Almost simultaneously, we were also certified by the manufacturer Mars in accordance with its very strict and comprehensive guidelines.
    Our new pallet wrapping system, capable of handling up to 120 pallets per hour, is going into operation. We are preparing to expand our storage and production capacity by extending the picking warehouse from one to three floors.

  • 2014

    Alongside our e-commerce division, we are continuously expanding our food and beverage sector. In 2014, we successfully executed several major campaigns for Coca-Cola. For our new client, Bempflinger Lebensmittel, we implemented our first co-packing projects as well as display construction projects.

  • 2013

    Launch of our comprehensive multichannel activities for Intersport’snew online store. We need to expand again to accommodate our food and beverage handling operations: Groundbreaking for an additional production facility with 5,000 square meters of logistics space took place in March, and the grand opening followed in June.

  • 2012

    Introduction of Pick-by-Voice. This innovation improved process reliability and achieved the desired end-to-end transparency in the warehouse. Paperless picking operations and internal stock transfers ensure error-free processing and inventory accuracy. We placed great emphasis on the ability to integrate with various customer systems.

  • 2011

    Expansion of the logistics center at the Böllinger Höfe site. Construction of a fully automated high-bay warehouse with over 16,000 pallet storage spaces. Up to 280 pallets can be stored and retrieved per hour—ideal conditions for serving regional customers on a “just-in-time” basis. This has enabled us to gain new customers in the automotive sector.

  • 2010

    Targeted expansion of IS IDEAL-SERVICES into a trusted partner in the field of contract work, as well as further development of temporary staffing services for clients and expansion of the team.

  • 2009

    Founding of IS IDEAL-SERVICES, our subsidiary specializing in temporary staffing. Acquisition of several clients in the mail-order sector.

  • 2008

    Establishment of the subsidiaries IDEAL-SOLUTION GmbH and IDEAL FullService GmbH. Expansion of the service portfolio to include credit checks, accounts receivable management, and debt collection, thereby offering a complete multichannel commerce solution.
    Commissioning of a new logistics center with an additional 12,000 square meters of production space, creating 40 new jobs.

  • 2007

    Six-figure investments, for example in cardboard balers, to separate and sustainably dispose of materials, thereby optimizing the environmental footprint. Participation in several trade shows with a company-owned booth.

  • 2006

    Having passed the audit, the company is now certified to handle food products. Official partner of the PSI Association. Member of the “Sweets Global Network” association. Established its own spirits warehouse and expanded its production space by an additional 10,000 square meters.

  • 2005

    In April, the company celebrated its 10th anniversary since its founding in 1995. Business performance has been very positive. We introduced new software, developed specifically to meet our needs, to ensure quality from order picking through on-time delivery.

  • 2004

    Relocation from Talheim to the “Böllinger Höfe” industrial park in Heilbronn. Comprehensively optimized facilities, workflows, and production processes across 5.600 square meters of production space and 4,000 square meters of outdoor storage, enabling significantly more efficient deployment of the 170 employees in serving over 200 customers.

  • 2003

    Expansion of our scope of operations into the food sector. Compliance with the specific requirements for handling food products and acquisition of several well-known food industry clients. Expansion of our service portfolio to include the handling and storage of pharmaceuticals and cosmetics in accordance with applicable hygiene regulations. Due to strong business growth and a shortage of logistics space resulting from this expansion, plans are made to relocate to Heilbronn. Development of optimized processes and ideal structures.

  • 2001

    Transition to a new inventory management system developed specifically for IDEAL-PACK. Implementation of special, secure interfaces for customers to check the status of stored products. A loyal customer base that now includes over 150 companies in Germany and abroad.

  • 2000

    Expansion of production facilities to 4,000 square meters. Increase in the number of employees to 82. Establishment of the first apprenticeship positions. Purchase of a new shrink-wrapping machine with an integrated camera system for reading and sorting addresses.

  • 1999

    Relocation to new production facilities with 2,600 square meters of production space. A permanent workforce of 40 employees. New investments in technologically advanced, high-performance machinery. Expansion in the area of data processing.

  • 1995

    IDEAL-PACK was founded by the two managing directors, Hans Klein and Johann Kremer. The company began with eight employees in a 1,400-square-meter production facility. The technical facilities were gradually expanded, and the range of services was broadened.
